They completely prevent the wasted energy that would usually be caused by over boiling, and the fact that they’re a fixed unit means they’re great for people who struggle to pick up standard kettles.

FAQs

This varies between products, but generally hot water dispensers can boil water in a matter of seconds.

They’re specially designed for rapid heating with 3000W rapid heating elements being fairly standard, so they usually out perform traditional kettles by a large margin. Even though the average heating element for a kettle uses between 1500 and 3000W, they’re not designed for rapid heating in the same way that a dispenser’s element is. This means that even if the kettle and the hot water dispenser use an element with the same wattage (say 3kW), this does not necessarily mean that they will heat water at the same rate.

Hot water dispensers are estimated to use around 50% of the energy required to run a traditional kettle. Repeatedly boiling a kettle throughout the day is both time and energy inefficient, and kettles waste energy when overused. This inefficiency is even more obvious when catering for larger groups of people, making dispensers the clear choice for office spaces or large households. Water filters vary by system – some systems utilise removeable filters with replacement recommendations of around 6 to 12 months, but some systems use permanent filters that do not need to be replaced.

This means that it’s often more economical to buy a hot water dispenser with a permanent filter in the long run .

It is estimated that around 67% of traditional kettles users overfill their kettle, resulting in a shocking 3500 tones of CO2 waste every day.

Hot water dispensers massively reduce this waste resulting from overfilling, making them the better choice for the environment. If you want more information on this.
